This Black Obsidian Vogel Wand is a slim six-sided bar sharpened to a point at both ends, 6" to 7" long and 300g to 350g, with long mirror-polished faces that run the whole length of the piece and read almost liquid-black in the light.
Black obsidian is a natural volcanic glass, formed when lava cools too fast to crystallise. It has long been associated with protection and grounding, and is often described as a stone for facing things honestly rather than looking away — which is why it is traditionally kept near a doorway or a desk.
Black obsidian is usually linked to the root chakra. Because it is a glass, the tip is its most delicate part — keep it where it will not be knocked, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth rather than washing it.
