A glossy 5 3/8 inch black obsidian tower. This exact one is the one you get.
The basics
So... what is a crystal tower?
It's stone cut into a standing point: flat base, sides meeting at a tip. Shops call them towers or generators.
Honestly, almost all are shaped by people. A cutter grinds and polishes stone into the point. Points that grew that way are natural points.
Most of ours come from Brazil, with some from China.
Choosing
How to pick yours
-
Pick a height
Under 3 inches suits a desk. Big ones, up to about 20 inches, anchor a shelf.
-
Read the letter
On our clear quartz, the letter is a grade. B is cloudier and cheaper. E is clearer.
-
Trust your eye
The colour, phantom or rainbow you keep coming back to? That's the one.
Using it
Display and care
-
Stand it up
The flat base means no stand needed. Desk, shelf or bedside table all work.
-
Mind the tip
The point is the fragile bit. Keep it away from edges and busy hands.
-
Watch the sun
Rose quartz and amethyst can fade in strong sun. Dust with a soft dry cloth.

Good questions
Questions people ask us
Is it a real crystal?
The stone is real. The shape is cut by people. Want one that grew that way? See Natural Point Crystals.
Why are there cracks and rainbows inside?
Natural fractures and inclusions. Light bounces off them and makes little rainbows.
Tower or generator, what's the difference?
Mostly the name. Some people say generator for a six-sided point with a centred tip.
What's a phantom?
A ghostly outline of an earlier crystal inside the stone, left as it grew.
What do people use a tower for?
Mostly display. Some set one at the centre of a crystal grid.
