The basics
So what is rose quartz, really?
Rose quartz is quartz with a blush. Scientists found its pink comes mostly from microscopic fibres of another mineral packed inside. Those fibres also give it that cloudy, milky look.
It usually forms as solid masses, not pointy crystals, so it's great for carving. Hence all the hearts and spheres.
