Soapstone Trinket Box - Round Top Varnished - 4” Wide
A soapstone trinket box carved with a Double wolf lid is a small decorative box made of soapstone, a soft stone that is easy to carve. Trinket boxes are often used to store small items such as jewelry or keepsakes. This a unique and decorative piece for anyone who enjoys nature-themed or animal-themed trinket storage decor.
Soapstone is a type of metamorphic rock that is composed of talc, chlorite, and other minerals, and it is known for its soft, soapy feel and its ability to be easily carved and shaped. It is called soapstone because it feels greasy or soapy to the touch, due to its high talc content. Soapstone is known for its durability and resistance to heat. Soapstone is usually gray, green, or black in colour and has a smooth, matte finish until it is polished and finish has been added to reveal its true colours.
