Geode Cathedrals
More Info
Geode cathedrals or geode churches are a geologic wonder in themselves. They’re classified as geological secondary structures, mostly because they aren’t completely rock and they aren’t completely crystal. Instead, they’re part sedimentary or volcanic rock, part gem-quality mineral matter.
Geodes are filled with sparkling amethyst or citrine crystals which were formed thousands to millions of years ago. It is said that owning a geode cathedral is the closest thing to owning a slice of the earth’s ancient wisdom and history.
These bulk geode cathedrals come from Brazil and are half natural and half man-made. The crystals are a result of lava flow. The miners cut the geode in half and polished the crystal faces to enhance their appearance. The back, base, and sides of the geodes were cemented to add stability and protect the crystals inside. Finally, the exterior of the geode cathedrals was painted black to create a backdrop against which the colours of the crystals will be emphasized.
Geode cathedrals are used for decoration, collection, healing, feng shui, and educational purposes. They block negative energies and dispel stress from environments.
