Peridot Rare Rough Natural Specimens - Extra large

Peridot is an olive green stone with the intensity and tint of green, however, it can vary from yellow to olive, to brownish-green. Each stone is sold per piece and ranges from five grams to nine grams per piece with a range of ¼” to ¾” at the longest edge.

This natural peridot specimen is a partially terminated peridot crystal with some broken areas. This peridot is opaque with a small amount of white clay minerals and graphite. There are some areas with a high concentration of ludwigite as well.

The fabled origin of Peridot stretches back to Ancient Egypt, on the volcanic island in the Red Sea. Peridot was treasured by the Ancient Egyptians so highly that they kept the island’s location a secret! With the fall of the Egyptian empire, the island became lost to antiquity and was only rediscovered in 1906.

Known as the stone of compassion, peridot is believed to bring good health, restful sleep, and peace to relationships by balancing emotions and mind. This friendly bright green stone also has the uncanny ability to inspire eloquence and creativity, delight, and good cheer.
