Herkimer diamonds are not diamonds, but double-terminated quartz crystals. Herkimer Diamonds are so bright and shiny that they look like Diamonds. The name comes from Herkimer, New York, where these bright, double-edged crystals were originally found.
The crystal is also known as the Middleville or Little Falls diamond.
