The basics

So... what is a carving?

It's a natural stone that a carver has shaped and polished. A heart, a sphere, a pyramid, a bear.

They're often carved in places like China, Brazil and India. Many listings say where.

The shape is the fun part. Palm stones fit your thumb, hearts make easy gifts, and animals make people smile.

Choosing

How to pick yours

  1. Start with the shape

Something to fidget with? A palm stone. A gift? A heart. A shelf friend? An animal or a skull.

  2. Then the stone

Pick the colour you like, or a traditional meaning, like rose quartz for love. Tap a feeling above.

  3. Check the size

Most hearts and palm stones here are 1 to 3 inches. A size range means we pick yours from a batch.

Using it

Living with your carving

  1. Keep one in your pocket

A palm stone is made for rubbing with your thumb. Lots of folks keep one by the keyboard.

  2. Give a heart

A small stone heart is an easy gift for a friend, or for you.

  3. Go easy on water

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Selenite and aragonite don't like getting wet.

Good questions

Questions people ask us

Is it real stone?

Yes. The stone is natural and the shape is carved. Dyed, coated or treated ones say so, like Enhanced or Aura-Plated.

Palm stone or worry stone?

Same idea. A palm stone is a smooth, flat oval. A worry stone usually has a thumb-sized dip.

Will I get the one in the photo?

If the title says Unique or U#, yes. Otherwise we pick one from a batch, so pattern varies.

Can it break?

If it's dropped, yes. Soft stones like selenite chip easily, so keep them off tile and hard floors.
