Tangerine Quartz gets its name from its colour, In appearance, it ranges from a pale pinkish-orange to a vibrant ruby hue. The size range for a point is ¼” to 1” a majority of pieces will be in this range but a few may be larger or smaller.
The colour derives from inclusions or encrustations of iron. The presence of Hematite and water where they grew. The water combined with Hematite creates it permanently bonded to the surface of the crystals.
This stone is also known as “Red quartz, or strawberry quartz” is transparent with an orange or red cast. Most of this type of crystal comes from Brazil or Madagascar. It connects strongly to the element of fire, The Sacral Chakra, and to a slighter degree The Solar Plexus chakra.
